Colorado's Statewide Community time capsule

A Time Capsule Created by Colorado

The Colorado Capsule is a statewide community time capsule project created to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary and Colorado’s 150th anniversary of statehood. The project invites Colorado residents to contribute a piece of their story to help preserve this moment in history for future generations.

The Ranch Events Complex will permanently place the Colorado Capsule on-site as part of its master plan, where it will remain sealed until 2076 in celebration of America 300 and Colorado 200.

The goal is to create one shared historical snapshot made up of thousands of personal stories, memories, and artifacts representing life across Colorado in 2026.

How to Participate

The Colorado Capsule is open to all Colorado residents. There are multiple ways to get involved and become part of Colorado’s history.

  • By Mail: Mail all eligible items to the Loveland Visitor Center. 5400 Stone Creek Cir. Loveland, CO 80538
  • Digital Submission: Share memories, stories, photographs, and letters to the future through this form.
  • In person: Visit the Colorado Capsule during traveling display events in Denver and Colorado Springs on June 8–9 (official times TBD), or submit items at the Larimer County Fair from July 31–Aug. 4, 2026.
