Fort Collins is the heart of northern Colorado’s renowned beer culture, home of Colorado State University, and loved by the wider community for its many restaurants and idyllic Old Town. Take a complimentary tour at Budweiser or explore the city’s vibrant craft scene with a visit to New Belgium Brewing, the birthplace of Fat Tire, or Odell Brewing Company, known for innovative, small-batch brews. In early summer, thrill-seekers can ride class II through IV rapids while whitewater rafting on the Cache la Poudre River, Colorado’s only designated Wild and Scenic River.
Estes Park serves as the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the nation’s most beloved treasures and the fourth most visited national park. With 415 square miles of protected wilderness, visitors can explore over 300 miles of hiking trails, spot wildlife like elk and bighorn sheep, and enjoy stargazing under pristine skies. Don’t miss Trail Ridge Road, which climbs above 12,000 feet for sweeping alpine views, wildflower meadows and breathtaking overlooks. Downtown Estes Park offers charming shops, local eateries and a connection to the region’s rich mountain heritage. Estes Park is also home to the world-famous Stanley Hotel, where author Steven King once stayed and was inspired to write his top-selling novel, The Shining.
Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Boulder combines natural beauty with urban charm just 30 miles south of Loveland. Labeled as one of America’s Foodiest Towns by Bon Appétit, Boulder boasts a thriving farm-to-table dining scene and an eclectic array of local restaurants, especially on Pearl Street and around the University of Colorado campus. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the city’s expansive open spaces, including the Flatirons, or hit the slopes at nearby Eldora Mountain Resort for a day of skiing and snowboarding. Tea lovers will be in heaven, sipping their way through the Celestial Seasonings factory and tea shop.
Greeley is the perfect destination for agritourism adventures, from visiting local farms to picking fresh produce or exploring seasonal corn mazes. Festival-goers won’t want to miss the Greeley Stampede in July, a legendary rodeo and western celebration featuring concerts, parades, carnival rides and family-friendly fun. Take the kids to the Colorado Model Railroad Museum or see how authentic Western hats are made at Greeley Hat Works. Greeley is also home to the University of Northern Colorado.
Longmont blends small-town charm with a vibrant food and culture scene. Stroll through the historic downtown district, where local shops, art galleries and farm-to-table restaurants line the streets. Don’t miss The Cheese Importers, a beloved destination offering artisan cheeses, gourmet goods and a charming French-inspired bistro. For outdoor enthusiasts, Longmont offers easy access to scenic trails, lakes and parks, while its thriving craft beverage scene includes breweries, distilleries and cideries that showcase local flavor.
Known as the “Garden Spot of Colorado,” Berthoud is a hidden gem offering picturesque landscapes and small-town appeal. Beyond the greens, Berthoud offers historic charm with a walkable downtown, local boutiques and cozy cafes. It’s a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beauty of northern Colorado.
Just a short drive from Loveland, Cheyenne offers a taste of the Wild West, especially during Cheyenne Frontier Days. This iconic event, held annually in late July, is the world’s largest outdoor rodeo and western festival. Visitors can enjoy thrilling rodeo competitions, national music acts, kid-friendly attractions, shopping and more. Beyond the festival, Cheyenne’s western charm lives year-round with historic downtown tours, museums and cowboy culture.
