Located only 45 minutes north of Denver and 35 minutes from Estes Park, Loveland is your welcoming entry to the Rocky Mountains, where love and connection are woven into every experience. As a destination that celebrates art, nature and community, Loveland invites travelers to pause, explore and rediscover what it means to feel truly at home. Below are resources to help you plan your trip, whether by car, air or motorcycle. However you get here, don’t forget to stop at the Loveland Visitors Center to stock up on maps and other resources, talk to a local about the best places to eat and find a souvenir to take back home.
As the heart of northern Colorado, Loveland is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 34 (US-34) and Interstate 25 (I-25).
Loveland is currently enhancing 4th Street in the historic core of downtown Loveland through the Heart Improvement Plan (HIP Streets). Upon completing the project in 2026, 4th Street will be more walkable, more functional for events and have aesthetically pleasing streetscaping elements that foster community, along with updated utility infrastructure. Pardon our mess during construction, and please continue to patronize downtown Loveland businesses as they are all still open during construction.
Construction along I-25 between Mead and Berthoud (south of Loveland) will occur through 2028. General hours of operation for the project are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, so plan extra time for travel accordingly.
Denver International Airport (DIA) is only 50 minutes away, and the Northern Colorado Regional Airport is in Loveland, so getting here is easy.
A variety of transportation and shuttle options await travelers coming to Loveland.
Bustang offers travelers a sustainable and economical way to travel from DIA to Loveland and up and down the I-25 corridor.
Formerly Green Ride, Groome Transportation is another great way to get from DIA to Loveland and back.
The city’s bus system offers seven routes to get around town.
This regional bus service provides stops all along northern Colorado, from north to south. FLEX stops in Fort Collins, Loveland, Berthoud, Longmont and Boulder. Riders can connect to Denver’s Regional Transport District (RTD) in Longmont and Boulder.
Ride-shares like Lyft and Uber are readily available in Loveland and throughout northern Colorado.
Loveland offers 31 miles of paved trails encircling Loveland and connecting to other regional trails, including the Long View Trail and the Colorado Front Range Trail. Bike, walk, run or rollerblade on these trails for scenic views. There are also more than 20 miles of soft surface trails throughout our natural areas.
Rent a bike from The Extra Mile Outdoor Gear & Bike.
Make Loveland your base camp and see how easily you can get around to enjoy your northern Colorado adventures!
